Becoming a Certified Commercial InstallationMasters™ Installer
Individuals with five (5) or more years of commercial window and door installation experience may apply for participation and enroll in an installer training and certification class taught by an Accredited Commercial InstallationMasters™ Instructor. Candidates who demonstrate their knowledge of the training materials by passing the examination shall be approved as a Certified Commercial InstallationMasters™ Installer. Certified Installers receive a certificate and a photo identification card.Non-Certified Participant
Individuals who do not meet the prerequisites listed above may participate as a non-certified participant. They are required to register for, and attend, a training class taught by an Accredited Commercial Instructor but are not permitted to take the written examination. Once they attend the entire training class, they are issued a certificate of completion.Becoming a Certified Installation Company
A commercial window installation company with at least one (1) Certified Commercial Installer in charge of each installation project, and a quality system that meets the program requirements may apply to become a Certified Installation Company. If the company meets the program requirements, they will be approved as a Certified Installation Company. Within 12 months of the approval, the Administrator shall perform an on-site audit of the installation company's quality system. For companies with more than one facility enrolled in the Program, each facility will be audited independently. On-going audits are conducted each year.Upcoming Commercial Installer Classes

Registration Process
Certification candidates must fill out and submit a registration form along with the following registration materials to the class sponsor:- Verification of installation-related experience, such as a letter from a current or past employer.
- Photograph of the candidate (clear head shot, either black and white or color). An example would be a passport photograph.
- A copy of a signed, photo identification card (driver's license, government issued identification card, or other identification form).
- Registration fee made payable to the class sponsor.
Taking the Examination
Certification candidates must take a closed-book written examination at the end of the training class. The examination consists of multiple choice questions. Candidates will have a limited amount of time to complete the examination. No teaching aids or reference materials of any kind are permitted during the examination.Installers who do not read English or have reading disabilities should notify the Accredited Commercial Instructor prior to the class for special assistance during the examination.
Certification candidates who do not pass the examination will receive notification along with instructions on how to retake the examination. The re-examination may be administered by an Accredited Instructor, or by a proctor who is approved by the Program Administrator. A maximum of two re-examinations are permitted.
Re-certification
Installer certification is valid for four (4) years. Certified installers will be notified ninety (90) days prior to their expiration date. To recertify, they are required to take an open-book re-certification examination. If they pass the examination, they will receive an updated certificate and identification badge.If they do not pass the examination, they will be given one re-exam before being required to retake the training class to remain certified.
Installation company certification remains valid as long as the company meets the program requirements.
